The City in Day and Night

This is a fully edited and soundtracked video highlighting some of my favorite pictures from Lake Park and Downtown. I couldn't resist the music, so please enjoy. (Click on picture above to begin video playback) 1:22

ed. note: You may experience some frame flickers or unintentional jumpiness; I believe that occured somewhere in the compression, and I'm trying to root out the source.

Riverwalk and Water Street

This is probably the most geographically-centered "best-of" clip for #5, highlighting my path through the Milwaukee Riverwalk and down Water Street.

City in the Dark

These pictures have the lowest ambient light of the shots I took at night in Milwaukee, and constitute my "Best Of" #4.

Lake Park Overpass

This series, the third of my "best-of" clips, features the trail overpass at Lake Park, including the lion gargoyles and a daddy longlegs that felt an unnerving compulsion to explore me.

City Streets and Buildings

This is my second silent "best-of" group, featuring some of my favorite shots of streets and buldings in town at night.

Lake Park Marker

This is the Lake Park dedication marker at Lake Park in Milwaukee, describing the circumstances of its planning and opening in 1892. Lake Park's designer--F.L. Olmstead--also designed another city's most prominent park: Central Park in New York City. In the background is Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro, which overlooks Lake Michigan.

Strategy #2

For my second set, I'm going to the Downtown/Riverwalk area of Milwaukee north of the Interstate. With these images I'm going to try and capture motion that imitates eye movements. Milwaukee has an underappreciated downtown, full of rich architecture, including some of the finest French Second Empire architecture in this hemisphere. If people were only to stop and look from time to time, they might see the architectural beauty the city has to offer.
